Total Ankle Replacements

Total Ankle Replacements By Dr. Patrick Briggs, Podiatrist 1. Why would you need a Total Ankle Replacement? Arthritis is the most common reason for a patient to need a total ankle replacement. Patients have pain and/or arthritis due to circumstances such as bad sprains, previous trauma, ankle fractures, rheumatoid arthritis and/or osteoarthritis. Others have post traumatic pain from athletics or previous accident where damage was done to the cartilage. We go through a series of conservative treatment options before a total ankle replacement may be warranted. 2. What ar

The Importance of a Primary Care Ph...

The Importance of a Primary Care Physician By Dr. Linda Pouzar Clear Lake Family Physicians 1045 Gemini Street, Houston TX 77058   1. Why is it important to have a primary care physician? During medical school clinical training, my husband, Dr. Joe Pouzar and I remember telling our four middle-aged parents to choose a personal primary care physician. None of them were sick often, they were baffled and immediately asked, “why?” We explained that primary care physicians are the broadest trained and first line of medical defense. A reliable primary care physician

  • My children have been seeing Dr. Azim and/or Dr. Mena since they were born and both of them were premature. Seventeen and ten years later - my children are extremely healthy and happy children. It is good to have good partners that actually care about your children and Dr. Azim, and his staff, have been so excellent to work with. I only wish my personal PCP was as wonderful. I hear horror stories that people have with their doctors or waiting forever and I honestly have been blessed enough to not have had that type of experience. I will be sad when my kids are too old to see Dr. Azim. He always greets us with a big smile and the kids know and trust him. I would highly recommend him. Sometimes things are just worth the wait!

  • I will agree with some of the other notions about arriving early and still having to wait, but, generally my experiences have been positive. The staff on the 4th floor are pleasant and Dr. C. Guillermo is very pleasant, positive, and I feel like she really cares about her patients. Instead of trying to come in and diagnose in 2 seconds and leave she always comes in asking questions and getting patient feedback to make them feel comfortable about the any conditions and treatments. It's like you're working together instead of everything being done by the doctor. She is definitely an awesome listener. She keeps an open mind towards what I have to say about why I'm in for the appointment even though I'm obviously not a doctor. Would recommend.

  • My doctor is Dr. C. Guillermo and has been for quite sometime. All of my family has now chosen her as their PCP based on my reccommendation. She is thorough, a great listener, always with a pleasant personality and very good at what she does.

  • Dr. Azim was recommended to me by a life long friend. He is a very good Dr. He is great with the children, very knowledgeable, and is flexible. His office staff is friendly and will never turn you away if you are late which was great for me when I was pregnant and had another small child to carry. I highly recommend Dr. Azim and the staff at Gulf Coast Medical Group.
