Dr. Markus Giacomuzzi received his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine ( Chicago , Illinois ). He completed a podiatric surgical residency at Westside VA Medical Center in Chicago . Dr. Giacomuzzi is board-certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. He holds memberships in the American Podiatric Medical Association, the Texas Podiatric Medical Association and the Harris County Podiatric Medical Association. He is also a clinical instructor with the Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency Program of West Houston Medical Center, a three-year podiatric surgical residency. Dr. Giacomuzzi began his podiatric practice in 1988 with MacGregor Medical Association and joined Texas Gulf Coast Medical Group in June 2002. He is on the staff at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center , Christus St. John Hospital , Bay Area Surgicare Center and Clear Lake Rehabilitation Hospital . Dr. Giacomuzzi's areas of specialization include reconstructive foot surgery, sports medicine, diabetes and diabetic foot complications as well as pediatric foot conditions. He also has a special interest in wellness and nutrition. His philosophy of practice is to actively involve his patients in their own healthcare to achieve a good health outcome. Dr. Giacomuzzi was born and raised in Chicago and was one of seven children including a twin brother. Born to Swiss parents Dr. Giacomuzzi holds unique dual citizenships as an American and Swiss. While growing up in Chicago, Dr. Giacomuzzi with his brothers, sisters and parents were a performing musical family band. Dr. Giacomuzzi and his wife have two children, a daughter and son, and are residents in the Clear Lake area. They are active members of St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church in Clear Lake . In his spare time Dr. Giacomuzzi enjoys playing golf with his son, playing basketball, running and spending time with his wife and children.
