Dr. Ralph Tharp is the President of Texas Gulf Coast Medical Group. He has been a practicing physician in the Clear Lake area since 1977 where he has been long recognized as a practice management leader. He earned his medical degree from the University of Minnesota and completed a rotating internship through Broadlawns Polk County Hospital, Des Moines, Iowa. Dr. Tharp is board-certified by the American Board of Family Practice and is an active member of numerous professional associations, including the Texas Medical Association, The Texas Academy of Family Practice and the American Academy of Family Physicians. Dr. Tharp's patients love that they usually do not have a long waiting period before being seen. Dr. Tharp's philosophy of practice is to assure his patients have a good understanding of their health care needs and are active participants in their treatment and healing. The parents of four grown children, Dr. and Mrs. Tharp reside in Clear Lake. Dr Tharp enjoys his grandchildren, golf, travel, dogs and dog shows and reading mysteries and thrillers.
