Joining Texas Gulf Coast Medical Systems – Clear Lake in 2016, Dr. Thriveni Vellore, M.D. brings with her over 20 years of healthcare experience. After obtaining her degree in Mangalore, India at the Mangalore University in 1993, she moved to Allentown, Pennsylvania in the mid-1990’s. Dr. Vellore completed her Residency at the Sacred Heart Hospital in 2002. Also in 2002, Dr. Vellore was awarded Sacred Heart Hospital’s first ever Faculty Recognition Award for the ability to decrease ER hospital admissions as a result of her skills in Preventative Medicine.
Following Dr. Vellore’s residency, she gained additional experience as a private practitioner before opening her own practice in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania in 2006. She is passionate about preventative medicine and she has a special interest in chronic disease management. In addition to her special interests, Dr. Vellore received special training in pediatrics while attending the Institute of Child Health & Hospital for Children.
In 2013, Dr. Vellore and her husband, Bala relocated to Houston, TX where he would pursue his research in chemical engineering. Together, Dr. Vellore and Bala enjoy traveling the globe and experiencing different cultures. Dr. Vellore also enjoys art, and vegan cooking.
